General information

Alicante Airport Terminal1 is currently the larger of the 2 terminals.

There is a drop off zone directly outside the Arrivals terminal where the maximum stay is 10 minutes.

There are Taxis, buses and a car park opposite the Terminal.

I have split the information about Alicante Airport Terminal 1 into; Arrivals at Terminal 1 and Departures from Terminal 1.

Alicante Airport Terminal1 Arrivals

As you exit your plane you will be taken into the Arrivals hall. Here are the baggage collection points and there are plenty of luggage trolleys.

The following services are also located in Terminal 1 Arrivals;

• Damaged Baggage
• Bureau de Change - 966 919 090
• Guardia Civil Station
• First Aid 966 919 157
• W.C. - there are 2 of these. One at either end of the Arrivals hall.
• Baby Change - Located in the ladies W.C. only. Changing table is on the wall. There are 6 toilets and one reduced mobility facility.
• Airport Services
• Iberia Customer Services

When you have collected your luggage you exit the Arrivals hall into a long walkway into the basement. This will take you to the Alicante Car Hire offices.

Once you are past the car rental offices the following services are located past the double doors:

Alicante Aiport Terminal1 Cash Machines (ATM)

If you require a cash machine (ATM) you will have to go to Terminal 1 Departures (there is a cash machine at the top of the stairs).

Alicante Airport Terminal1 Departures

The following services are in the check in area of the departures area of Terminal 1:

• Cash point
• Information
• 3 Airline ticket offices
• Tour operator desks

At the top of the escalator is a cafe and a small newsagent. This newsagents used to be a tobacconist but isn't any longer.

Where to buy tobacco cigarettes at Alicante Airport?

You can no longer purchase tobacco at the newsagents at the top of the escalator in departures. If you are looking for a tobacconist then tobacco is sold in duty free. Tobacco / cigarrettes are also sold in the car park of Terminal 1. The shop is located right by the car park exit pay booths.

Departures lounge

Once past Security you enter into the middle of the Departures lounge. There are a great variety of shops located here. You can see from this picture which shops there are in departures.

VIP Lounge

The VIP Lounge is open from 06:00 to 23:00 Tel: 966 919 149. This is located just along from Burger King and opposite Bentleys Bar.

General Facilities

The following facilities are also available:

• Post Box
• Tourist information desk
• Plenty of W.C.'s. Ladies - I have always found that the toilets at the far end of the Departures Lounge (continue on past Duty Free) are the quietest and there is rarely a queue.
• Chapel
• Bureau de Change

Emergencies

A doctor is on call 24 hours a day and there is a Farmacia (Chemist) in the Arrivals area of Alicante Airport Terminal1.

And finally..........A little bit of information for you smokers! Officially you are not allowed to smoke within Alicante Airport, however my mother (a smoker) tells me that you might like to check out the activities behind Bentley's Bar (although you didn't hear it from me!)
