Alicante Beaches
Sun, sea and sand are excellent reasons to visit Alicante and the Alicante beaches are gorgeous stretches of unspoilt coastline. If you just want to do nothing else but lay on the beach then Alicante can cater for your needs.
The golden beaches are beautiful and stunning even during the Summer season when it can get quite crowded.
There is lots to do whatever your age. For the adrenalin junkie, there are numerous watersports on offer, or you can kick back and sit in the seaside restaurants, cafes and bars.
Alicante Beaches have so much to offer you. Visit all 8 of them and then tell us which one is your favourite!
Which one did you find that had the bluest sea and the finest sand? Or which beach is the quietest? Which beach does the nicest ice-cream?
We have been to all of the beaches around Alicante. We have sun-bathed, paddled and swum on every beach and the following are my favourites. You may not agree with my choices and if you don't I would love to hear which one is your favourite and why.
My children love the beach and they have always had wonderful times on these beaches. I really believe that children need no more than a bucket, spade, suntan lotion and a swimming costume and they will be 'happy as larry'.
We have built sand castles, eaten ice-cream, paddled, swum, snorkelled, rock pooled, fed the fish, played frisbee and beach ball on these beaches.
Tips for enjoying the Alicante Beaches with children
- Get there early, especially if travelling with children.
- Take some shade, it gets very hot on the beaches.
- At the height of Summer some beaches can get very crowded, make sure your child knows how to spot you amongst the sea of sun shades. We have a distinctive sun shade that our children can spot a mile away.
- For children under 7 put a tag on their wrist with your mobile number on it - but do not put your childs name on the wrist band.
These are my favourite two beaches and are the ones I would recommend you visit.
This 900m long beach is right in the centre of Alicante. Positioned at the foot of Mount Benecantil upon which the Castillo de Santa Barbara looms and next door to the Marina this beach is the most conveniently situated of all beaches around the magnificent city of Alicante.

Is a little further out from Alicante City but it is the closest beach to our beautiful apartment and I love it here. Why? The beach has a lovely family, seaside feel. There are restaurants all along the sea front...
