This museum is worth visiting just because it is located within Alicante's oldest civil building, it dates back to 1685 and it is located next to the Santa Maria Basilica.

This building has had several uses in its long and distinguished history. it has been a cereal warehouse, business school and now a museum of contemporary art.

The art has been donated by Eusebio Sempere and they include Chillida, Picasso, Dalí and Miró, among others.

The museum is currently closed because it is undergoing extension work. This is really unfortunate because it houses some beautiful works of art. If you are visiting and would like to see the museum do telephone first and check whether this museum is open yet.
